Pristine blue waters, gigantic abandoned machine parts, and the vast ocean ahead of you; can you picture it out? I have been at the old mine port twice now and its beauty still mesmerizes me. I always feel transported to the set of Wall-E or Mad Max.

The old mine port is four hours away from Bacolod City and located near Punta Bulata Resort at Cauayan, Negros Occidental. You can ride a Ceres bus going to Cauayan and tell the driver to drop you off at the entrance road going to Punta Bulata since no public vehicle goes in there. I’m not sure if there are habal-habals available but you can ask the residences near the drop-off point. The road is quite rocky so if you’re going to bring a private vehicle make sure it’s not too low. Locating the port is quite easy. When you see two separating roads, choose the one at the right side (which is a descending one) then just go straight.

You can do countless things at the old port. Photoshoots, diving, picnic, or even camp under the stars! It is totally worth the trip.
